2026 Spring Campaign

I would like to take some time and recap the 2026 Spring Trip.  I have to say, it was a bit emotional at time.  I will not lie, I thought about Jody quite a bit on this trip.  There is so much to remind you of him at every turn.  I know he is looking down on us, and I know that he would be ecstatic  to know that we continued the trip.

I will say, I was a bit skeptical at times, but I wanted to let everyone know that each an every one of us stepped up, and if it wasn't for that we would of never been able to pull it off.  We were able to keep the Easter Kielbasa schedule, and this helped the club funds.

We welcomed two new people to the Lac 31 experience.  Ted3 who fished with us several years ago, and John WR.  They each were successful at landing a few fish.

The trip did not go without a few problems, our first night at the hotel, a fire alarm all got us out of bed at 2:00 a.m.  While we were allowed back in, we had to climb 4 flights of steps.  We awoke in the morning to discover that we didn't have any water!

Later that day, we arrived at the lake to launch the boats, Mr. Raymond, alerted me to the fact that my folding trailer tongue was about to break.  The weld was rusting away.  He was very kind to launch my boat, and he had one of his men weld my trailer!

We experienced some minor issues at our cottage.  The power had failed on Thursday afternoon, but the generator kick on as usual and provided us with power.  When the power was restored, a problem occurred with our house panel.  Apparently in did not reset properly and burned itself out.  We had intermittent power for the remainder of the night.  The problem was fixed in the morning.

Ted JR also forgot his extra meds, which was solved by John Weick, gave me a website for an E-doc, who was able to prescribe the necessary medicine I needed.  Thank God for Carl, he was able to provide me with the other meds, I had forgotten.

I would like to report that we had a very good fishing year.  We caught 136 lbs of trout this year.

Thank you everyone for all that you did to make the trip successful. We even found the missing white board from 2017!  Vince did a great job on documenting all of the catches in the spreadsheet, and we have a great data source now.  It was great to have an opportunity to fish with my son, and also to catch up with my old college roommate.

Already looking forward to next year.
