A Tradition Unlike Any Other

Okay... maybe we shouldn't compare our fishing contest with one of the most cherished sporting events on the planet? Still though, we have now been immortalizing our fishing contest winners with "The Banjo and Ziggy" and "The One" trophies since 2011! Once again these prized titles are on the line in 2017!


As a reminder (as no rule changes were proposed at the annual rules committee commission meeting in Sarasota) the rules state the following:


"The Banjo and Ziggy" (TEAM CHAMPION TROPHY)
*Each member of the team will count their top 5 lake trout by weight towards the total team weight
*Any lake trout line caught and weighed will be counted (Dock and Boat)
*Teams will be drawn at random on Friday May 19th
*Championship team from the previous year will repeat at team members.

"The One" (INDIVIDUAL LARGEST TROUT (By Weight)
*Pretty self explanatory


PAST CHAMPIONS
2011 - Carl and Joe (9.5 lbs - Temagami)
2012 - Carl and Joe (7.4 lbs - Temagami)
2013 - Carl and Ted (9.5 lbs - Temagami)
2014 - John and Jody (17 lbs - Temagami)
2015 - Vince and Ted (17.5 lbs - Temagami)
2016 - John and Jody ( 10.8 lbs - Temagami)
2017 - ???? 


Story Lines:
*John and Jody look to be the only 3 time team champion.
*Carl and Joe could also look to be the first 3 time champion if the draw works in their favor.
*Carl who has his name on this trophy 3 times has not produced a win since 2013.
*All members (Except Vince!) have the chance of being on this coveted trophy for the 3rd time.
*Carl is already on here 3 times.
*Highest team weight still belongs to Vince and Ted at 17.5 lbs in 2015
*Only member in good standing never to be here is Jim (Curse of the braided Line)
