The The Canadian Fisherman (TCF) is going to move forward. After talking with Carl, John, Vince and myself, we all decided that the club must continue. Given that, we are going to continue the plans for the spring trip that Jody had already in place.
In the past we relied on Jody to take care of all of the details for the trip, we simply wrote a check and showed up. But things are changing. John and I discussed this, and we are going to take care of the finances going forward.
Ted is going to talk to Diane (our rental realtor), and determine where we are in regards to payments Jody may have made for the spring trip. Knowing that, we will pay the remainder of money we owe to Diane for this years trip.
Jody had been setting up "Easter Kielbasa" for mid march. We are going to continue that process, to help offset the club expenses. Bert, offered to order the meat, and make sure we have everything in place for March. I am looking forward to making kielbasa and seeing everyone again, and maybe some new faces if possible.
We are going to get together in April and transfer Jody's boat to John. We will amend the bank account for the TCF so we can do business. If time permits we will go "shopping" for the dry goods for the trip, and Ted and Carl will purchase all of the fresh food on Thursday, before heading up to the harbor hotel.
John and I talked about the trip, and we came to this conclusion. Yes we could keep everything the same, or it is time we started to bring some new life into our club. John has reached out to Jimmy and Ted, I am going to ask Nick if he is interested. We are hoping that Brian will also join us on the trip. We have three boats if necessary and we certainly can adapt.
It is important that the club, which has meant so much to each one of us, lives on. The fishing is always important, and the excuse we use to go fishing each year. But I know deep in my heart, it is about the time we get to spend with each other that is the reason we proceed with these fishing trips.
One last thing I will tell you. Jody and I always ended each call, with I love you. Never be afraid, to say that.
LOVE YOU GUYS
