So here we are 2017, preparing to head to Brochette and the
31 mile lake. We are going back to
Quebec, from where it all started, 31 years ago. I remember it like yesterday, we were sitting
on the dock, when Banjo made the pronouncement to Ziggy, “Thirty years Ziggy,
Thirty Fu?%ing years we’ve been coming here.”,
I remember at the time thinking, Holy shit, that’s incredible. How the hell could you do something for that long? Yet here we are.
The years have gone by, but still the fire burns to meet up
with the crew and head up North to “Fish”. Well that’s one of the reasons, but
not my main one. It is always a great
time to just be back together for one brief week, when nobody is rushing, nobody
is stressed out, and we have the luxury of just kicking back and enjoying the lake and each others company.
We all take stock of what transpired during the course of
the year, and where we are headed. We
all have the next hurdle to get over, and we seek the advice of each other to
accomplish those goals. But the best
part of the trip is that for one brief week, time slows for just a bit. Each minute lasts one second longer, and it
recharges your being. Just my feeling,
but I hope you share it as well.
