Down-Rigging vs Lead Lining
Gentleman, I know that this is the equivalent of debating the boat stability of the USS Enterprise vs Marco’s green boat. However, it is something that should be voted on with respect to our fishing contest.
The returning winning team will be Ted (Lead Liner) and Vince (Downrigger). Jody has made the suggestion that we should make the traditional drawing of teams on Friday between John w/ Carl or Jody and Jim w/ Carl or Jody. This ensures that the 3 teams are split equally among their primary fishing boats.
I actually do see the point with this one. Give it some thought and let me know what you think.
Some Thoughts to consider:
*We have never “rigged” the drawing of teams (It was always whatever it was).
*Remember the contest only includes your top 5 trout (Basically for this type of reason)
*Dock fish still count (A new 2014 rule allows for diving in after trout as well)
*Down rigging has produced an abundance of trout in recent years (I sort of like Jody’s reason because of this – I would like to see a tight race for the “Banjo and Ziggy”)
*Lead Lining as been a proven method as well (So has Jigging)
*The normal way of drawing cards can still lead to equally (Equally with reference to fishing method preconceived notions) split teams.
*If all holds true with respect to the downrigger method a John and Jim team could become the Chicago Bulls of the late 90’s
*However, Jimmy always does lose about 2 days of fishing due to performing his duties as the honorary
Ezra Brooks taste tester of the TCF.
I’ll look for your thoughts boys! Just about 2 weeks to go!

As much as I would love to save time and money by engraving "Jim and John" on the next 6 lines of the "Banjo and Ziggy"... I vote to make sure the teams are split evenly among the boats. I think it will create a more fun environment come lunch or dinner time when we come back talking about all the fish.. well.. the one fish we caught.
