Hi guys,
Been awful busy lately as most of you are as well. The trip was a lot of fun, I for one had a great time. It was great to get back on big water, and I had a hell of a good time fishing with Jody and Joe. It was kind of like those fall trips we use to take.
As usual, Jim, John and Captain Vince, caught the most fish, using the proven down rigger method. It worked really well. As soon as the fish were located on the finder, the captain would drag that bait in front of the fish till they finally took the bait.
Carl, Greg and Nick also had some luck fishing, unfortunately Carl's boat took a beating this year, and this was no fault of his own. There was a lot of debris in the water this year, and some of it was just not avoidable. Jody save the Hawk from a log, that I missed, by yelling RIGHT RIGHT, we missed it thankfully.
The meals as usual were incredible. We had more than enough food, and the Chicken Dumplings were new, and were also delicious. Vince has turned out to be quite the Baker, and I will be the first but not last to say that everything he made was incredible.
Once again Jody, thanks for all the prep that you put in, not to mention all the meals that you prepared. We would be living on nuts and berries if you didn't do it. (and pecan pie).
The weather was the weather, for the most part we had pretty good days for fishing. There were a few days of rain, and wind, but all in all not bad at all. The bugs were not as bad as other years, but they still had their share of U.S. blood.
Thanks guys for the great time, it was good to get back to the North and it was a lot of fun hanging out with you guys. It really was refreshing to be back in nature, and enjoy the water. We need to think about what we want to do next year, but as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't really matter where we go, as long as it is with you guys.
Thanks
