Time to get Serious

Gentleman of the TCF, we are a short 42 days away from the start of another trip to the wilderness of northern Ontario. I figured it was time to send out a quick trip update and some reminders to everyone.

*Vince is calling Gramps to inquire about frozen herring. If anyone recalls this seems to be the go-to method and over the course of last year we purchased these trays from the bait store on the lake. That place did not have them one year so we are trying to make arrangements in advance so we aren’t stuck using inferior methodology (“Failing to prepare is preparing to fail”).

*Also, on the bait front. The go-to lure over the past few years has been a rippling redfin by cotton cordel. There is a blue and silver one and you can currently find these on Amazon for 4.99 / each. This is a hard body minnow lure that has a swimming action and it has proven to be very successful during the past.

*Jody informed me that the annual trip to Cabellas is tentatively scheduled for May 8^th.

*Just a friendly reminder… Please try and think about getting your dues in when you can. Before we know it, Jody will start some of the shopping. I think at this point most members have made some sort of payment which is good.

*Give your passports a glance. Make sure that your expiration dates are good and more importantly you know where your passport is!

*Make sure you can locate your outdoor card for your fishing license as well. Remember, we get these when we cross the border now.

*Jody, Teddy, and Carl will be leaving Thursday to spend a night in Brockville before heading to Pembroke to meet the rest of the crew on Friday. Vince will be driving again from Atlanta and also leaving on Thursday making his way to Lancaster for early Friday morning.

*Jimmy has a new truck and will be testing the lights and hitch at some point prior to the trip.

*Late notice on this one, but if anyone is interested in any kind of TCF apparel (Hats , T-shirts , sweats) make a suggestion and I’ll do the leg work to get us prices and samples. We might have to act in the next week or two to make that happen.
