Almost there.....

Gentleman of the TCF... Jody has informed me that ALL TCF vessels are on departure watch. They are on the launching pad at Travel HQ (Moosic PA) waiting to be hitched up. It is always amazing how fast the year goes and I know I can speak for all of us when I say the excitement level is at a high. I wanted to take the time to thank all members for making the 2013 trip possible. Kielbasa making, organizing, researching, and shopping are just a few things. As always, Jody gets a special shout out for handling the shopping by himself. I know how hard that is and I actually miss the days of attempting to piss him off by sneaking chocolate icing into the cart. Anyways... Thanks!

On the next note... some important reminders and updates.
#1 Remember your passports
#2 Remember your green fishing licence cards if you still have them
#3 For God's sake...someone bring Jaws!!!
#4 T-Shirts will be handed out on Friday. Please try to remember the money you owe for your order.
#5 Weather update looks amazing (Dont hold your breath...it is Canada!) Sunny all week.

#6 DOWNRIGGER SITUATION - Guys... I can't tell you how pumped up I am that we all took on this technology. I'm actually surprised nobody took this plunge years ago. I really think this will change how we fish and the success we have moving forward. Whether the trout are sitting on the surface this year, you can bet they will come to use during future trips.
        A. Try to have extra equipment. Balls / Cable / Clips / ect. - buying anything at a Marina if you need to will be a premium.
        B. A good tip that I read up on was to have wire cutters handy. Think about if you can not get a snag out. Nobody is cutting 195lb test with their teeth.
        C. A good rule of thumb is the "rule of 100". If you are seeing fish at 60ft. then let out 40 ft of line and then attach your line and release to 60 ft. Downrigger fishing does not require a lot of line. Its about precision and the deeper the fish are the less they are effected by the overhead boat.
#7 Remember that your cell phones need to be airplane mode once you hit Canada. Well, I guess they dont need to be, but you will have a big bill.

Ok guys if you think of anything else please post a comment. I'm pumped and we will see you all on Friday. Save travels to HQ to all the members that travel prior to travel.
