Gentleman of the TCF… The Tournament committee is pleased to announce
the official rules for the 2013 fishing tournament. Member suggestions have
been considered and implemented on a consensus basis. These rules as always are
subject to change half an hour after teams are selected on Friday the 24th
of May. A change in these rules requires a majority vote and a tie reverts back
to the original.
Participation:
Participation is based on a voluntary basis and a member
must declare in or out prior to the random selection of teams on May 24th. A
member declaring “out” is NOT eligible for “The Banjo and Ziggy”, however, they
are still eligible for “THE ONE”. However, they would not be awarded any voluntary
monetary contest that would be in place should the members decide to
incorporate the traditional 5$ / man contest to go along with “THE ONE”. We don’t
expect any member to declare “out”, but we must provide the option.
Time:
The tournament will be a shoot out format this year. This
change is based on member consensus due to slow fishing the past few years.
Simply put, the tournament starts when we get on the Pontoon boat to the island
and ends when we get back in the trucks to head home on June 1st. If
Jody decides to troll over to the island while on Mike’s pontoon boat and
catches a trout, it is a legal catch!
Fish:
This is a lake trout only tournament. ANY lake trout line caught
and weighed will count toward the tournament if you choose. All fishermen will
count their top 5 trout to their total. This change allows for ALL dock caught Lakers
to count as long as they are weighed and recorded. **NOTE: Any fisherman
choosing to fish from the dock must be ACTIVELY checking their pole. As long as
you make an effort to check your line on a 2 hour basis it would be a legal
catch. Leaving a line in the water overnight and falling asleep to check in the
morning would not be a legal catch. This is not considered sport fishing under
Canadian regulations and is actually illegal. Should another fisherman see
another’s pole with a “fish on” the fisherman who’s pole is in the water must
be notified. The finding fisherman is free to hook up and fight the fish. That
fish, as long as said fisherman was actively checking their rod, can count that
fish toward their total even if they allow finding fisherman to fight and reel
said fish in.
“THE ONE”
The fisherman who line catches and successfully weighs the
largest (by weight) lake trout for the week will win the prestigious “THE ONE”
“The Banjo and Ziggy”
The 2 man team that catches the most combined weight of lake
trout will win the ultimate team trophy… “The Banjo and Ziggy”. Fisherman can
only count their top 5 lake trout to their total. Should your 6th or
7th lake trout of the week outweigh any of your first 5, you would
simply replace it.

Not sure on the overnight fish. So if i get up and look out the window every two hours then it counts and i will gladly wake up any member chosen to prove it
Hey WTF, I didn't know he went on to be a lawyer. Where was this guy when we were writing the by-laws.
Psssst. Hey Vince not to be picky but the TCF is trying to pick up a Cabelas endorsement deal. Might want to loose the bass pro logo on the shirt.
