TCF Island Blowout 2011

Well guys and the woman who love them,

Its official Jody has booked the cabin for 2011. After countless hours of research John discovered what could be the perfect lake, and I couldn't agree more. The lake is Temagami, which means deep water by the shore. It is located in Ontario Canada, and was ranked 20th best trout lake in Canada (and possibly the world).

To put that in perspective it was the only lake on the ranking that can be reached by car. Average lakers come in at 8-12lb. Yeah I said pounds. However, the icing on the proverbial cake is the fact that we will be staying on a lodge (Temagami lodge see link) that is on a private island. How cool is that? This will require us to bring our supplies by boat, go to town by boat, everything by boat. Couple that with a porch you can fish from and we have the makings of a legendary trip. I just hope I can find a Jolly Roger for our boat, because it being raised every time a 10+ is put in the boat.

The trip does come with 3 very minor downfalls however, that I want everyone to be aware of. First off, its Canada so everyone needs to get a passport (see link below for more info). Please get started on this early as it could take from 6-10 weeks to complete, unless you pay an extra almost $100 for expedited processing and shipping. Second its a 11hr drive so we will likely stay at a hotel on the ride up. I don't see this as a downfall I think its exotic, but some might. Lastly, we will be leaving 5/27/2011, which is the Friday immediately before memorial day or 1 week later than "usual." Please confirm that with Jody if it is absolutely crucial that the date be exactly known.

So all I can say is I am pumped and I can't wait. Please remember that Jody will need a definite answer by Jan 15th, along with a deposit (amount TDB), because we will be limited to 9 spots this year, and also need to know for sure who is going. That shouldn't be a problem since we only have 9. Anyway, I hope everyone has a wonderful summer. Please check out the links below for information on the lake, licenses, and passports.
