Day 5 alone on the hill

So as was mentioned the boys and I hung back as the elders went to attend the funeral of Joe Stroke I God rest his soul. Our prayers are with the Strokes and family.

Unfortunately, it rained all day and the lake was choppy and rough. John and I decided to brave it out and go fishing anyway (will we ever learn?) Jimmie decided to hang back and watch a movie. Coincidentally, we all caught the same number of fish. Only John and I also probably caught pneumonia in the process.

Last night was a bit tumultuous. It seems there was a slight disagreement among the several members. I wouldn't say it was between father and son or generation X vs. the baby boomers, it was more like Jim Beam Vs. Ezra Brooks, and surely these two were the instigators. If it wasn't for all the gums flapping everyone would have been really drunk just ask Jim. As always however peace came in the end followed by sobriety (eventually). That is the power of the tie that binds the TCF.

So I couldn't do my on the water post today (too rainy), maybe by the end of the week (God willing). Jim and John are leaving tomorrow early they say. That leaves me I guess to hold down the fort until the evening. I think I'll go fishing or at least I'll practice casting into the lake ( I don't know if it can technically be called fishing). So until tomorrow this is Vince signing off...
