Keuka Lake Once Part of the Erie Canal System

Here is some interesting information. In the 1800's Keuka lake had a canal which linked it to Seneca Lake. Seneca Lake was connected to the Erie Canal. They used it to move farm goods as well as people to other parts of New York and Pennsylvania. A lot of the Erie Canal is still navigable and several of the locks are still in operation. Most towns along the canal have areas where you can tie up your boat for the night, and they also provide power hook ups. It has been interesting researching the Lake. Here is a link with some additional information.
